P.D.A[ Public display of affection ]

Giving new light to the term street art, this subtle public display of affection offers a series of connected and thought-provoking messages on industrial traffic signs along roadsides and immersed in the nature surrounding them. Tulum, Ibiza, and coming to a city near you . . .

If you were waiting for a sign, this is it. This art project aims to employ typical methods of commercial signage to signal its viewers in a most unexpected way. Industrial roadsigns, marquee letter boards, and neon will loan themselves to a different kind of direction. The conceptual signs shall foster the ethos of global consciousness with wise words, connected statements, and enlightening messages that promote positive thought and inspire an inner dialogue. The unassuming “passer-by” will be caught off guard with the proposition of an unexpected moment of reflection. The beauty of this installation is that it is for everyone: public art in its purist form. It is the intent that everyone on their unique journeys will have an opportunity to be touched by an unexpected message. An initiative of this nature not only cultivates inner awareness but also promotes local awareness and appreciation of art in different forms. These subliminal artworks become beacons spanning the roadside and thus form a yellow brick road of illuminated sculpture and enlightening reminders. All cities, all locations – no matter how unlikely, no matter how seemingly random – will briefly host beauty. All people – no matter how divergent their concerns, no matter how disconnected their lives are – will be able to experience it and ultimately, perhaps, find inspiration in it.

“Art is only real when shared.”
